Myth: Prospects aren't important -- the only thing that matters is sales!

If you believe this one, then you are losing thousands in sales from lost new customers and lost repeat purchases from those customers.

We hear this myth repeated all the time from business owners who don't understand the marketing process or the psychological buying sequence of their potential customers.

Please write down the following and place it where you will see it every day.

ALL CUSTOMERS START OUT AS PROSPECTS!

THE MORE PROSPECTS YOU ATTRACT,
THE MORE CUSTOMERS YOU WILL HAVE!


Here's another one you need to remember:

BROWSERS TODAY -- BUYERS TOMORROW!

Does this mean that every prospect or browser will eventually buy from you? No. But a good percentage of them will if you can get them to know, like and trust you and your business.

We are all prospects when we are searching for solutions to our problems. And we will all become someone's customer after we finally choose the business we want to buy from.

A PERCENTAGE OF PROSPECTS WILL BUY TODAY -- AND A PERCENTAGE OF THOSE WHO DIDN'T BUY, WILL BUY TOMORROW

Next time you are at your local mall, take note of the number of people that walk into any given store. Then note how many walk out with a purchase in their hands.

Everyone who walked in was a prospect. But not everyone who walked out was a customer. Only a percentage of any company's prospects actually buy from them on any given day.

Each store owner knows that a certain percentage of prospects who walk into their store on any given day are going to buy, and a certain percentage are not.

But, more importantly, they also know that of the prospects who didn't buy today, a percentage of them will be back to buy in the future. That's why savvy business owners treat 'all' of their prospects like gold.

That is the same with all businesses. Prospects have all sorts of reasons why they may not be ready to buy from you at this point.

INCREASE YOUR PROSPECTS, AND YOU AUTOMATICALLY INCREASE YOUR SALES

But there is always a direct relation between the number of prospects you attract, and the number of customers you convert.

The more prospects you attract, the more sales you will generate.

When it comes to growing your business, prospects are one of your most important resources.

Don't ever believe the myth that prospects are merely tire kickers, or a waste of your time. That kind of thinking will put you out of business -- quick.

It all begins with prospects. Treat them well, and they will make you rich.
