Q. Should I offer one product or hundreds?
You've said that it's a good idea to try to put all of your products on one store page on your Web site to encourage multiple product purchases.

I have 'hundreds' of products and don't understand how I could possibly put them 'all' on one site page.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

A. Marketing expert, Joe Gracia, responds:

Yes, we do recommend putting all of your products on one store page if possible. Once we started doing that, our multiple product orders tripled. By having all of our products on one page, we expose our customers to products they may not have been aware of.

We have 8 - 12 products on our store pages on our sites, and there is no problem displaying them all on one page.

Here's an example:

Displaying 'hundreds' of products on one page would definitely present a major problem of file size. Since we also recommend using a graphic or photo for each product, such a page would take forever to load.

One solution would be to group your products into categories and just display the category headings on one page and then your customers would go to one of your category pages to see a listing of all your products within that one category.

However, unless you are a successful catalog marketer, there is a big problem in offering so many products to your prospects and customers. When customers are confused with too many choices, they tend not to buy anything.

If you're not happy with your current results, we would recommend that you try to reduce your product line and focus your marketing efforts on fewer products with more, in-depth, benefit-oriented descriptions.
